In 2016, what started as a bold design idea quickly turned into something much more. The Aurora Hair-on-Hide Boots weren’t just the first style we ever made — they’re the reason Stiefeld exists. Loved for their standout texture, effortless western vibe, and all-day comfort, the Aurora became an icon the moment it stepped into the world.
But like all great things, they started small — in a workshop in León, Mexico.
THE SPARK: WHY WE CREATED AURORA
Back then, most boots felt the same — stiff, overdesigned, or missing something personal. We wanted to offer something real, wearable, bold, and made to last. That meant using hair-on-hide leather, a material few western brands were exploring, and building everything with welt construction to ensure durability.
Luis, our co-founder, handpicked the first hides himself. Every detail — from the heel height to the stitching — was thoughtfully crafted to balance western tradition with feminine edge.
THE FIRST FEW PAIRS: WHERE IT BECAME REAL
When we launched our first batch, we didn’t expect what happened next. Within weeks, people from all over were asking where to find “those boots with the hide.” Customers were drawn to the uniqueness — no two pairs looked the same — and the way the boots made them feel: confident, original, and connected to something deeper.
Word spread. The Aurora quickly became our signature. We still remember shipping out those first 20 boxes, carefully wrapped by hand, hoping they’d land in homes that loved them as much as we did.
